Ishlangu 1.5.4 Release

We are happy to announce the new release of Ishlangu Load Balancer ADC. We are always striving to make Ishlangu better. This release includes a few new feature enhancements as well as some bug fixes.

AWS Cloud Improvements

We have made several improvements to Ishlangu Load Balancer ADC’s AWS environment support:

Active/Active Clustering in the Cloud

Ishlangu now provides Amazon AWS customers the ultimate in high availability and fault tolerance, active-active failover support for advanced load balancing on AWS.

Active-active gives organisations massive scalability and reliability for their app traffic with the ability to cluster multiple active Ishlangu instances and support multiple Elastic IP addresses, which results in all Ishlangu Load Balancers actively processing traffic.

EC2 Classic Environment Support

You are now able to launch an Ishlangu Load Balancer ADC within AWS’s EC2 classic environment. Before we only supported VPC deployments, however in this release you are now free to launch in both AWS environments.

EC2 One-Click Support

With the ability to deploy Ishlangu Load Balancer ADC into any AWS environment, it is now possible to use the EC2 One-Click launch functionality via AWS Marketplace. This simplifies the deployment of Ishlangu into the cloud and will have you up and running in minutes.

Automatic Elastic IP Mapping/Unmapping

Ishlangu now makes it even easier to deploy to the cloud with automatic mapping and unmapping of AWS Elastic IP Addresses to VIPs and Network Interfaces. In a cluster, Ishlangu provides Elastic IP address seamless failover, reducing the impact of AWS instance failure.

Cookie Whitelist

It is now possible to relax the checks performed by the Cookie Shield. You are now able to provide a list of client generated cookie names you do not want Ishlangu to validate. You are able to use regular expressions to define your whitelist.

Regexable Field Shield Exceptions

Field Shield Exceptions are now more flexible, allowing you to define regular expressions for the parameter name and URI entries of the Field Shield Exception you are creating. This greatly simplifies the configuration of the Field Shield, allowing you to apply the exception to a wider range of input parameters and URIs. This helps improves your overall security.

Improved Security Logging

Firewall violations now log the X-Forwarded-For header (if one is present) in the security log message. Allowing you to identify the real IP address of a potential hacker, who may have been using several proxies to initiate the attack.

Bug Fixes

As well as these new features, there is the usual round of general improvements and bug fixes.

We highly recommend existing users upgrade now to take advantage of these new features and improvements. If you haven't tried the Ishlangu Load Balancer ADC, what is stopping you? Try it for free today!

Enjoy.
